Residential Bifold Doors - installed in Brundall Norfolk
We were delighted to be awarded AluK’s Installation of the Month for this exceptional new-build holiday home, located in the village of Brundall on the banks of the River Yare,
in the heart of the stunning Norfolk Broads. This striking riverside property was selected by the judging panel in recognition of its outstanding design and exemplary use of AluK aluminium systems, which combine contemporary aesthetics with high performance.
The project showcases a carefully considered range of AluK products, all finished in the popular Anthracite Grey to complement the modern architectural style of the home. These include an Optio BSF70 open-out bi-fold door, two sets of Optio 58BD French doors, and an impressive large glazed gable-end window using the Optio 58BW system. Together, these elements maximise glazed areas, flood the interior with natural light, and create uninterrupted views across the River Yare and surrounding landscape.
We worked closely with the homeowners, who were replacing a run-down lodge with a bespoke, steel-framed, cedar-clad holiday home. Due to its riverside location, the new building was thoughtfully designed and raised on stilts to help mitigate potential flood risk. A key priority for the owners was to achieve unrestricted views of the river while maintaining excellent thermal performance, durability, and long-term reliability.
Having recommended AluK systems as the ideal solution, the owners visited AWD’s showroom to view the products first-hand. They were particularly impressed by the slim sightlines, smooth operation, and the overall quality of the systems, as well as the comprehensive service package available. The flexibility of the AluK range allowed us to tailor the glazing solutions precisely to the architectural vision of the property, ensuring both visual impact and practical performance.
