The Britannia Movers International, commonly referred to as the Britannia Removals Group, is one of the United Kingdom’s most prominent and well-established moving and storage networks. Founded in 1981, it was created with the aim of enabling independent, often family-run removal companies to compete more effectively in a market increasingly dominated by larger, centralized firms. Rather than functioning as a single corporation with branches, Britannia operates as a cooperative network, bringing together dozens of independently owned removal companies under a shared brand and set of standards.

This structure is central to understanding how the group operates. Each member company retains its independence while also owning a stake in the wider organisation. As a result, customers typically deal with a local Britannia firm that has strong knowledge of its regional area, while simultaneously benefiting from the collective resources, infrastructure, and reputation of a national network. Over time, the network has expanded to include more than 40 locations across the UK, providing comprehensive nationwide coverage.
